Beatson Cancer Charity is going virtual again with their 8th annual Off the Beatson Track, now earlier than usual in June. Over 1000 people took part last year and even more are expected to get their boots on this year.
After careful deliberation, the charity has decided to host another virtual challenge to prioritise the health and safety of the community during this time. Let’s turn villages, towns and the city yellow on the weekend of 12th and 13th of June.
Given the current circumstances surrounding COVID-19, the charity was keen to find a way to offer 2 DAYS of opportunities to keep the much-loved experience in the calendar and a way to continue raising funds for cancer research and its services.
The flagship event, a 10k (6.5miles) challenge is suitable for all ages and mobility and is guaranteed a great ‘feel-good’ event. This year should be no different with Beatson Cancer Charity hoping that supporters will continue their celebration with Off the Beatson Track. Families can still take part but by staying local instead of the usual mass gathering city loop. Everyone can create their own route and participate in their own way. It’s entirely up to you! All we ask is that you join in, wear yellow and enjoy yourself! At the end of the day everyone will get a medal, a t-shirt and the knowledge that they have funded life saving cancer care.
