The event is run by Loch Lomond Shores in collaboration with ProTay Timing & Events and Inchbaggers Loch Lomond.
This is a swim event with a twist! Not only will you be able to swim in the lagoon at Loch Lomond Shores (which has a year round “no swim” policy) – what a treat! The swim event is aimed at all abilities. We have two separate sessions, one for those who want to swim – no set distance, there will be a marked out loop which you can swim around multiple times during the swim session. We will have buoyancy markers and manned kayaks in the lagoon for those who wish to swim.
We are also having a Dookers session. Come along and try the water in a safe environment, you might discover your inner mermaid or merman! Either way this is an opportunity to say that you have swam or Dooked in the lagoon with the reassurance of a safe and fun environment. The essence of the dook is fun for folk who want to dip their toe into the water, have a laugh with family and friends and maybe add it the festive occasion with a wee touch of fancy dress.
Safety is our priority; each participant will be provided with a safety timing chip which each participant will wear on their ankle. A beach safety crew will be on hand to ensure participants safety in and out of the water and event first aid will be on site. Sign up today.
Make a day of your visit to Loch Lomond Shores before and after your dip!
Our stores are all open from 10am to 5pm – including Sports Direct, Frasers, Pavers, Hawkshead and our mall stores which are filled with gift ideas, specialist whisky & gin, tweeds and knit wear, jewellery and gents and ladies clothing – so you can do that last minute Christmas shopping while you’re here.
For those who have built up an appetite, we have Café Zest, Caffe at the Shores and, newly opened Jurassic Grill and Jurassic Ice – a great adventure for those of you with children!
If you’re all organised and finished Christmas shopping, and just fancy some family time, you can enjoy a fun visit to The Loch Lomond SEA LIFE Aquarium and Loch Lomond Bird of Prey Centre.
Lastly, our outdoor market will be on that day, featuring fresh produce, artisan gifts, baked good and much more, as well as tasty takeaway food.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
