Hand Embroidery Hangouts (Pay What You Can)

About Hand Embroidery Hangouts (Pay What You Can)

Historically, people have sought enriching experiences and formed their own sense of community by gathering in groups such as Knitting and Sewing Bees to craft and socialise.
No experience is necessary to take part and this activity is all about having fun and discovering the possibilities of collage and zine-making together with likeminded people.
All materials will be provided.

We are a social enterprise using profits to promote wellbeing and empower communities in Scotland. For this reason, we are operating a Pay What You Can ticketing system to make this workshop more accessible to those who would otherwise be unable to attend due to financial barriers.
Suggested donation is £10 to support with running costs and facilitator wages. We don't have shareholders: 100% of our profits go towards supporting our community.

Spaces at this workshop are reserved for people with marginalised gender identities.
Our work supports this group in particular
1) Due to the lack of existing spaces and dedicated services, which places them at increased risk of experiencing loneliness, isolation and social anxiety.
2) To address the gender imbalance within the creative economies.
Our community is an inclusive and supportive space for all nonbinary, agender and gender variant people and all women (trans, intersex and cis).
Self-identification is at the sole discretion of each individual. While we do not police gender identity, this workshop is not open to cisgender men.

Wild & Kind is a registered Community Interest Company, no. SC571888.
