At The Modern Calligraphy Co, we want you to have a great time and feel relaxed so that you are able to achieve your best results.
Modern calligraphy is about lettering that has energy and flow. Just like with a pointed nib, it involves the pressure and release of the brush to get the gorgeous contrast of thick and thin lines. As brush pens come in all kinds of shapes and sizes, this creative session gives you the opportunity to try out lots of different types and discover the ones that are just right for you.
Our workshops are carefully structured, building up your knowledge step by step. Our worksheets teach you how to combine strokes to form letters, then turn them into words and phrases. You’ll spend time working on beautiful brush lettering templates created by our Master Calligrapher Kirsten Burke, and enjoy getting to grips with techniques like ‘blending’ and ‘bounce’. Your tutor will give demonstrations as well as provide one-on-one support and troubleshoot any individual difficulties you come across.
Before you know it you'll be creating greeting cards, party invitations, and artworks for your home and to give as gifts.
