Gaslamp Theatre is proud to present Rab Whittington, a Glaswegian-steampunk (yes, I just coined the phrase) take on the classic pantomime tale that’s guaranteed to get your whole family laughing this… Granted, it’s a bit after Christmas but come on, it's on in January! Name one other thing you would rather be doing in January? You can’t, can you?
Rab is an average guy with big dreams. When he arrives in Glasgow to look for another dead-end job, a chance encounter with a talking cat and the evil professor Rattus sends his world upside down. He’s gonna need all the help he can get in this world(read Glasgow)-wide adventure that’s gonna send him all the way from Drumchapel to Baillieston.
Join Rab (Patrick Proven),
the mischievous talking cat Felix (Rachel Ross),
his useless brother Jock (Ryan Donnelly),
the sensational Widow Clanky (Iain Cameron),
the spirit of Scotland Callie-Donia (Kate McBurnie),
his taskmaster boss The Alderman Fitzporren (Michael Cartledge),
and the diamond in the rough Victoria Fitzporren (Iona Lindsay),
as they fight that dastardly villain professor Rattus (Paul Ross) and help him achieve his destiny to become Lord May… No wait, Lord Provost of Glasgow.
