About Jasleen Kaur - Alter Altar
Jasleen Kaur (b.1986) was born in Pollokshields, Glasgow, not far from Tramway. Her new exhibition of work maps and traces local geographies in relationship with the artist's personal lineage.
This exhibition explores questions of tradition, improvisation and political mysticism as tools to reimagine and resource future devotional communities. We are invited to bear witness to the messiness of the historic and contemporary in order to undo notions of fixedness, and imagine something anew.
