PLUME
Plume is a multidisciplinary exhibition at Crownpoint Studios showcasing the recent work of three emerging artists – Coral Brookes, Paula Doherty and Rachel Stanley.

With works spanning painting, ceramics and drawings, the show is a playful study of landscape, materiality and meaning-making. The works explore the visual possibilities of real and imagined environments, posing questions on the intersection between the ‘man-made’ and the ‘natural’. The artists share a common interest in representations which are sensory, abstracted and tactile.
Plume:
(noun)
1. a long, soft feather or arrangement of feathers used by a bird for display or worn by a person for ornament.
2. a long cloud of smoke or vapour resembling a feather as it spreads from its point of origin.
(verb)
1. spread out in a shape resembling a feather.
2. Archaic (of a bird) preen itself.
