This exhibition will bring together my digital illustrations in a large scale format, alongside bringing to life one of my works through an interactive installation.
The works displayed will take a satirical lens to the demonization of feminists by depicting villanized women and non-binary folk engaging in everyday activities such as drinking tea or having a picnic with a friend.
The casual settings juxtaposed with the demonized people in my work highlights the absurdity of the demonization and the implication that feminists are seeking to bring harm to men. My work seeks to draw attention to this demonization, in a fun and satirical way, reclaiming that vilified depiction.
Opening Night / Friday 28th July / 7-11PM
Opening Night for my exhibition will take place on July 28th from 7-11PM. There will be art, tunes and feminism. Entry is free.
There will be welcome drinks for the first round of guests, early bird catches the worm and all that.
The event is fully accessible but do get in touch if you have any accessibility queries or concerns.
Life Drawing Session / Saturday 29th July / 12-2PM
On Saturday, fellow artist Ashfae MacDonald and I will be hosting a life drawing session in the exhibition space from 12-2PM.
The Haberdashery cafe and bar will be open if you fancy grabbing coffees and drinks while you sketch. Regular tickets are £7, and student tickets are £5.
Tickets can be be purchased on the door, but we recommend booking your slot here to secure your place ahead of time: https://forms.gle/g2tXqBanwisvwaDC6
This event is also fully accessible. Seating at this session will be made up of communal benches and floor cushions, if you require a chair with a back or any other more accessible seating please do get in touch ASAP and we will get this sorted for you.
Closing Day / Sunday 30th July / 12PM-2PM
If you don’t manage to catch the opening night or life drawing session, you can pop in on Sunday from 11am-2pm before the exhibition closes. The cafe bar will be open so you can have a peruse and grab some coffee!
I also recommend this option for those who wish to see the show but would prefer a quieter environment to do so.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
