It provides an opportunity for people age 16+ with previous drama or acting experience to work towards public performances in Royal Conservatoire venues on 20 June 2024.
The theatre company will adopt an ensemble approach to theatre practice. Students will be involved in all aspects of production and focus on rehearsal techniques, performance styles, research, staging and production.
Throughout the course, you will develop technical and creative skills through practical workshops and rehearsals. This will include voice, movement, character development and staging.
You will rehearse and perform a contemporary or classical play which will be performed for a public audience in one of the Conservatoire’s performance venues.
The rehearsal process will be similar to what you would experience in a professional rehearsal room. It will involve a supportive and collaborative process and you will be expected to contribute ideas and work as an ensemble.
The rehearsals will involve vocal and physical warm-ups, acting exercises and text work. It will be hard work – you will be expected to learn lines in good time and attend all rehearsals – but it will be a lot of fun!
There are no entry requirements for this open access course but to get the most out of it you should have some experience of performance and a practical understanding of theatre and performance skills. Ideally you will have done our Acting 1 or Acting 2 adult evening course or something similar.
Regular attendance on this course is particularly important as you will be working towards an ensemble performance.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
