Fresh off their triumph at the 2022 Glasgow Doors Open Day Festival, where they secured the prestigious 'Outstanding Event' award, The Tenementals are set to enthrall audiences once again. The band, who are a mix of experienced academics and musicians, return to the stage at St Luke’s for 2023 to present "A History of Glasgow in Song", a captivating blend of music, storytelling, and history.
Following a dynamic summer that included standout performances at events such as the Glasgow Hidden Lane Festival, a memorable collaboration with Mick Lynch at The Revelator Wall of Death, and a resounding show at Queen's Park bandstand for May Day, The Tenementals are geared up to deliver their award-winning musical odyssey through Glasgow's vibrant history. This much-anticipated performance is a highlight of the Glasgow Doors Open Days Festival 2023.
On September 15th, 2023, The Tenementals will grace the renowned 600-capacity St. Luke's venue in Glasgow with their performance. Showcasing an expanded repertoire of fresh songs, innovative concepts, and new members, the band guarantees an exceptional experience for attendees. Thanks to the backing of Creative Scotland, admission to this event is offered at no cost, and from 10am on Thursday 24th August, audiences will have the opportunity to reserve their spots.
The Tenementals’ frontman, David Archibald, said: “It was truly an honour to receive the outstanding event award at least years’ festival, and it’s great to be asked back by the festival. St Luke’s is a special venue, rich with its own distinct history, and we are excited to be returning with a new and re-imaged show. There will be new songs, new faces, and new ideas. Over the last year, we’ve been quite blown away by the response we’ve had. It suggests that Glasgow audiences are totally up for music which engages with the city’s radical past when it’s presented in an innovative way. St Luke’s promises to be a lot of fun.”
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
