Not only will you explore the masculine spectrum of the art of drag with two of Glasgow’s finest, Dorian T. Fisk and Mx Arrow Jackson, you will also learn some simple choreography and get the opportunity to perform with Dorian and Arrow in Scotland’s biggest drag king extravaganza on Dec 14th!

Get ready to learn everything you need to know about being a drag king to get you started on your journey, including:
• Drag King culture & history
• Face contouring & highlighting
• Faking the facial hair
• Creating a bare chest illusion
• Body language & movement
• No penis, no problem!
• Tips for creating a unique stage persona
This is an interactive workshop focussing on the performance of masculinity and open to people of any gender.
Ticket holders will receive a list of optional makeup and materials to prepare. There will be live demonstrations and DIY activities - full participation is highly encouraged but not mandatory and the performance opportunity is also completely optional.
A captioned video of makeup and body language demos will also be made available to all ticket holders along with a PDF containing a summary of key takeaways and further resources after the workshop.

Dorian T. Fisk is a multi-award winning Scotland-based drag performer featured in The Guardian as one of the UK's most inspirational drag kings. He is also the driving force behind Shut Up & King - a Glasgow-based platform for Scottish drag kings everywhere - and his drag king workshops have spawned a multitude of drag kings across the world, including the award-winning Mitch Bitchpleaser (Shanghai) and Scotland's hottest drag king boi band, The Tackleberries.

Arguably one of Glasgow’s most creative drag king talents, coming to Scotland by way of Chicago, Mx Arrow Jackson is a charismatic non-binary drag king of Black and Native American heritage with a background in theatre and clowning. This multi-talented performer not only lip syncs, sings and dances, they are also adept at using unconventional materials in their drag looks and costume creations and are part of the mentorship team in Shut Up & King’s ground-breaking KINGcubator program.
