Yes, this outstanding musician played the church organ from the age of 13. He was the Director of the specialist Music School (Douglas Academy), Head of the Junior Department of the RCS and subsequently became Associate Director of Music. He was one of the BBC accompanists and played for the Keepers of the Quaich. He was organist and choirmaster for 50 years at the West Kirk in Helensburgh and ran the “Sunday at Seven” series of concerts.
He has inspired young musicians giving them opportunities and confidence. This concert is a tribute to a GREAT man and given by musicians whose lives he has touched and influenced.
