It's being delivered for the first time in Europe, with an established successful history in North America and Brazil.
It is led by industry experts Pedro Melle e Cruz and Nickolle de Abreu, teacher training graduates of the ENC – one of the most elite schools in the world.
The course is suitable for anyone willing to challenge themselves and learn a different approach on how to develop their skills.
Nicky and Pedro have more than 20 years of expertise in acrobatics and circus, with their background which also includes:
• The Brazilian national gymnastics team
• Training at Beijing International Arts School in China
• Founding the successful international circus school Circocan in Brazil
• Exchange programmes between Brazil, Europe and North America
• Developing artists all over the world
• Leading the programme at the USA’s Camp Medolark
• Collaborations with Cirque du Soleil, AIDA Cruises, NASA and others
Their approach is strongly focused on developing not only skills but autonomy of participants, so they can keep researching and building their knowledge after the workshop.
Their teaching method is all about giving useful tools, so that people understand the principles and fundamentals to develop in whatever direction they want to pursue.
Circocan is one of the main schools in Latin America, so their experiences go from kids and teenagers, through adult recreational students, all the way to professional development. Former students are currently in the major circus schools (ENC Montreal, ESAC, National Centre, among others).
This course will cover many of the questions when you're planning and teaching a class, including:
• What are the objectives?
• Which exercises should I choose?
• How will I adjust technique and approach for each student?
• What are my safety concerns?
• How can I best use my creativity and increase my repertoire to make the learning process more efficient and fun?
It brings theory and practice together for anyone who is willing to develop themselves and learn more about teaching circus in its different levels.
