Hippy (Full Band) & Supports Redline, Cassy Lockhart & Laments

About Hippy (Full Band) & Supports Redline, Cassy Lockhart & Laments

HIPPY: "Formed originally as a duo in 2019 between singer Paul Hipson and guitarist Hugh Frizell. Both experienced musicians previously on the scene working solo or with other artists prior to that fateful meeting. The guys met by chance in Glasgow and hit it off personally and musically sharing many influences along the way. The first studio collaboration was the track 'Aries Girl' which was released in November 2019 and met with critical acclaim. Subsequent follow up songs included 'Feelgood', 'Junkyard Babies' and 'Volunteer'. All being received with genuine positivity from critics and fans alike. 2 co-written albums have followed. Debut album 'Behind Every Song is a Story’ - was released on all major platforms on October 2020. Hippy followed that up with releasing 'Falling In Love With Being Alive' in August 2021. Many tracks for both these records have gone on to become firm live favourites either acoustically with Paul and Hugh or as full live band. Post-release of FILWBA saw the chaps play some headline shows in their hometown, Glasgow at notable venues like Nice 'n' Sleazys and their 'home' which has become Room 2. They've also enjoyed a generous share of local and national radio play in particular with the prominent rock critic/ journalist, Billy Sloan, regularly playing and championing the band on his Saturday night BBC Radio show. Several singles have been written and released post the FILWBA album such as 'Collateral', 'Idol', 'Waiting For Love' and 'Justice and the Thief' to name a few. Also released was their distinctive cover of the Peter Gabriel 80s classic 'Sledgehammer'. The band line up includes Johnny D on Bass and G-Man McPhie on drums - both tasteful, experienced players that bring their own respective stamps to the songs you hear now from the band in a live setting. Paul and Hugh are looking forward to releasing an as yet unnamed new single to coincide with them headlining Room2 Glasgow on May 10th This will be a full/electric band show so get along on May 10th and hear the chaps take the roof off!' "We tried our best and gave it our all." Hippy x"

REDLINE: "The ever evolving, Redline are crossing all the red lines with their sound, veering from Psych to a disco beat, going heavy, wavering but steady, and catching themselves in time to end with a crescendo."

CASSY LOCKHART: "A talented singer-songwriter hailing from Ayrshire, has been making waves in the indie music scene with her captivating blend of country-pop, folk rock, and blues. Born and raised in the rich musical landscape of Scotland, Cassy developed a passion for storytelling through her heartfelt lyrics and soulful melodies. Drawing inspiration from diverse musical influences, Cassy found herself captivated by the raw authenticity of Johnny Cash, the fearless energy of Blondie, the rebellious spirit of The Jam, and the timeless allure of Fleetwood Mac. These influences have shaped her unique sound, blending heartfelt narratives with infectious hooks and melodies that resonate deeply with her listeners. What sets Cassy apart is not only her exceptional songwriting and emotive vocals but also her hands-on approach to her craft. Not content with solely creating music, Cassy has taken the reins of her artistic journey by filming, producing, and releasing her own music videos. This creative autonomy allows her to fully express her artistic vision and connect with her audience on a deeper level. With each performance, Cassy Lockhart captures the hearts of her audience, creating a profound connection through her soul-stirring melodies and introspective songwriting. Her genuine approach to music resonates deeply, inviting listeners to embark on an emotional journey. As she continues to evolve as an artist, Cassy's indomitable spirit and unwavering dedication to her craft promise a future filled with captivating music and an unwavering commitment to her community. Cassy Lockhart's music is a reflection of her own personal journey, exploring themes of love, loss, and self-discovery. Her powerful yet vulnerable vocals, accompanied by acoustic guitar and evocative instrumentation, create an intimate and immersive experience for her audience. Whether she's crooning heartfelt ballads or belting out anthemic tracks, Cassy's performances are filled with emotion and a genuine connection to her art. As an independent artist, Cassy Lockhart has been steadily building a dedicated following through her captivating live performances and the release of her original music. Her songs have a universal appeal that transcends genres, resonating with listeners who appreciate honest storytelling and the power of music to evoke emotions. With her passion, talent, and unwavering dedication to her craft, Cassy Lockhart continues to leave an indelible mark on the indie music scene.
