Monday 22nd April is Earth Day, which each year marks the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement.
To coincide with the date, this Blue Monday concert will reflect on the state of and future of our Blue planet. Optimism, reflection, fragility and the power of a cry of collective voices are in the DNA of jazz. And serve as a reminder that jazz was and can still be a music of protest and of awareness.
Students from the RCS will bring new life to music by Abbey Lincoln, Joni Mitchell, Ivan Lins, Cameron Graves, Paul Motian, Marvin Gaye, Charlie Haden and others. This promises to be a Blue Monday as unique as our planet.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
