This campaign won overwhelming world-wide public support and solidarity forcing a dogmatic government committed to economic free-market doctrines and to the rundown of yards, to do an about turn and concede the workers case.
This was ‘a struggle like no other before: not a strike, not a work-to-rule, not a sit-in. But a Work-in.’
This event will be introduced by Danny Carrigan, former shipyard worker and Trade Union Official, who will also lead a short discussion on the lessons to be learned from the worker’s victory and consider if these can be carried through into our now much-changed industrial landscape.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
