Interested in the world of jewellery making?
If this is you then you’re in the right place! Join us for a relaxed, friendly and informative day at the AOK Studio and dive into the world of lost wax carving!
This in-person event is perfect for anyone who wants to learn the art of carving wax that is then cast into metal. Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, our expert instructor Annie will guide you every step of the way. Annie is an experienced jewellery maker who has been developing her craft for over 5 years.
Annie will share with you how she maintains a low-impact art practice, ensuring processes and materials recycled and/or recyclable are environmentally friendly. You’ll get the chance to ask questions and see what you would need to start your meal-smithing journey.
During the workshop, you'll get hands-on experience with jewellery making as Annie guides you through various techniques. You will begin by learning about the casting process before Annie introduces you to different types of wax and their purposes. We'll provide all the tools and materials, so all you need to bring is your creativity and enthusiasm! Optional extras such as gemstones and casting in gold can be discussed on the day.
After the session, your wax carving will be sent to Annie's favourite and most trusted metal caster down in London to be turned into metal. Before you get your handmade ring, Annie will polish your piece so it is ready to wear. Not only will you leave with a stunning silver ring that you've made yourself, but you'll also gain valuable knowledge and skills that you can continue to explore in your jewellery-making journey.
Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to create something truly unique. Book yourself into the AOK studio now!
