Explore the Art of Glaze Application on Ceramics
This hands-on, 3-week course is designed for beginners eager to learn the essentials of glazing ceramics. Whether you're brand new to ceramics or just need a refresher, this course will guide you through the exciting process of glazing your own pieces.
What to Expect:
In the first two weeks, you’ll dive into testing a variety of underglazes and glazes on test tiles. This experimentation will help you understand the properties and effects of different glazing materials, as well as how to mix, brush, and apply them effectively. You’ll also learn essential techniques like masking and using wax to create unique patterns and designs on your pieces.
Week 3 will be your chance to put your newfound knowledge into action by applying your favourite glazes to your own bisque-fired pottery. Don't have any pieces? No problem! You’ll have the option to purchase a bisque-fired mug or bowl from the studio to decorate.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
