This documentary follows the inspiring journey of Carol Anne Stewart and Laura Montgomery, the formidable duo who, after being denied equal playing opportunities as children, set out to change the course of women's football in Scotland with the founding of Glasgow City FC in 1998. From the get go, their aspirations were high, to become a dominant force in Scottish football and a strong contender in Europe.
It doesn't take much research to know they did just that. Currently holding 16 premier league titles to their name, alongside 31 major cups, and also being the first Scottish team to reach the UEFA's Women’s Champions League quarter-finals not once, but twice, Glasgow City FC are the most successful women's team in Scottish history. This is the story of the original trailblazers.
Following the screening we are thrilled to be able to welcome the founders, Carol Anne Stewart and Laura Montgomery, as well as the documentary maker Margot McCuaig for a panel discussion and audience Q&A.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
