This introductory class differs from our standard intro due to the use of exclusively black, stoneware clay! No prior experience using this material, or any is required to participate. In addition to the regular intro and demo, our tutor will elaborate on the benefits of using this particular clay and how to work with it effectively.
Unleash your creativity in our 2-hour introductory pottery wheel class! Guided by an experienced instructor, you’ll learn the fundamentals of shaping clay into little bowls and cylinders—crafting up to three unique pieces to take home. No experience is required, just roll up your sleeves and get ready to learn a new skill.
With just six participants per session, this small-group workshop ensures personalised instruction in a relaxed, collaborative setting. Whether you come solo, with a friend, or bring family along, it's the perfect way to explore the joy of pottery.
After the session, your creations will be carefully cleaned, fired, and ready for collection in 3–4 weeks. Choose a complimentary white glaze, opt to leave your surface bare, or add a splash of colour with a vibrant glaze for £10 (per 3 pieces). All materials and firing costs are included in the workshop fee.
Whats Included:
All materials, including clay, tools, and a white glaze (optional).
An apron.
Expert guidance from experienced tutors.
Firing of your completed pieces (x3).
*Please note: This clay shouldn’t be used to craft tableware such as drinking cups, breakfast bowls, etc. It is more appropriate for decorative items such as trinket dishes, candlestick holders, bud vases. It contains more aggregate and grit than some other clay bodies and whilst it is perfectly safe and comfortable for wheel use, if you have sensory requirements it’s worth reaching out to ask questions before booking.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
