Ed & I is a historical stageplay set in 1307, at the start of the reign of king Edward II.
As Edward II ascends to the throne, he seeks to return his lover Piers Gaveston from exile. As Edward searches for Gaveston, Gaveston searches to understand his strange and surreal surroundings. Trapped in a spire, Gaveston encounters strange medieval beasts with whom he struggles to communicate.
Fans of Marlowe will revel in a new interpretation of the tale, medievalists will enjoy the appreciation of the strange medieval world, and enjoyers of puppetry will certainly not be dissappointed.
Martyr Theatre Company is excited to bring you this unique sensory experience featuring puppetry, original compositions, and a brand new script.
This fledgling theatre company focuses on performances which blend the real historical with the fantastical unreal.
Puppetry, Absurdism, Historical, Queer
