An Art Exhibition by In Cahootz Creative Citizens ArtClub, curated by artist and facilitator Rachel Mimiec.
This exhibition, There Is Only Make, is inspired by Rule No. 6 from artist and educator Corita Kent’s famous list of creative rules:
“Nothing is a mistake. There’s no win and no fail. There is only make.”
Following this idea, the exhibition celebrates creativity as a process— where experimenting, making, and learning are more important than getting it ‘right.’
The ArtClub, run by community arts group In Cahootz, meets weekly in their Glasgow studio. Members create art together around a kitchen table, exploring printmaking, developing their ideas, and learning from professional artists in a supportive environment.
This is the group’s third exhibition, following the success of Walking The City and The Kitchen Collective. The group visits exhibitions, researches art, and brings in guest artists to help members grow creatively.
Participants say:
“Art helps me understand my emotions. It’s really therapeutic.”
“When I’m there, it’s like stepping into another world. It brings out my creative side.”
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
