A powerful, epic tale inspired by extraordinary true events, A Fire in Their Hearts transports us to Scotland in 1662. As civil war rages and King Charles II tightens his grip on the church, childhood sweethearts Violet and Samuel are swept into a violent struggle for religious freedom. They pledge their hearts to each other — and to a cause that will test their faith, courage, and love beyond measure.
The pair are subsequently banished to Barbados to work on a plantation when further tragedy strikes, threatening to separate them forever. Can love endure across oceans, through wars and captivity?
