Aikido training as follows:
Monday mornings 11am (one hour)
Thursdays 7-8pm (emphasis on basics)
Thurdays 8-9pm (general class)
Aikido is an amazing activity, which can offer many benefits.
On a physical level, the art is based on the principle of non resistance, and practitioners can gain increased flexibility, fitness, strength, endurance, and balance.
Mental focus, mindfulness, calmness, and increased confidence can also be developed through regular training.
Work during class mostly involves training with a partner for feedback, although it should be noted that Aikido is a strictly non competitive activity.
Our instructors have many years of experience, and beginners are always welcome.
The class offers new members a safe and encouraging environment in which to train, and we have access to training seminars led by International teachers.
The first class is free, and although it is possible to pay for individual sessions, we encourage members to pay £30/month for training.
While Aikido does have some applications for self defence, the main goal of training is self development and the study of a fascinating art which can give the practitioner a life long study.
Feel free to come along to watch (or preferably) try a class!
You don't need to be fit to begin training - wear loose comfortable clothing.
Wing Tsjun Scotland is a registered sports charity that provides self defence courses for all ages through the means of a traditional Chinese martial art called Wing Tsjun.
