Organisers of the event, which celebrates comics and fantasy characters, dipped their toe in the waters last October, and were taken aback with the enthusiastic response from fans all over Scotland.
An estimated 15,000 people visited the last event, which included traders, cosplayers, comics and arts and crafts. This time around, the event takes place on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 April, and there will be even more going on.
Ian Bonar, organiser of Loch Lomond Comic Con, said: “Last year’s event was tremendous. We’d kept it fairly low-key as it was the first one, and we weren’t entirely sure what the response was going to be. But we were completely blown away by the enthusiastic welcome the event received at Loch Lomond.
“So, this year’s event is going to have even more. There will be workshops, and drawing classes, special guests from the world of comics and WWE wrestling, quizzes and competitions as well as cosplayers, traders and a great day out.
“Because there is so much happening, we will be charging for tickets – but tickets are only £2, and under 10s are free.”
Traders and comic fans from all over Scotland will be able to buy and sell comics and graphic novels, action figures and toys, as well as comic-inspired fan art and home decorations. There will be something for all the family, with things for kids, including facepainting, balloons and competitions, as well as adult activities, with guests from comics and WWE wrestling, art workshops, and cosplay competitions.
Loch Lomond Shores manager, Audrey Reid said: “It’s going to be a great weekend, with something for everyone – kids and families as well as serious comic fans.
“We expect Loch Lomond Shores to be buzzing with excitement, and full of costumed characters. And as well as the events put on for Comic Con, ticket holders will be able to take advantage of everything else we have on site – including a 40% discount on entry to SEA LIFE.”
Loch Lomond Comic Con takes place at Loch Lomond Shores on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 April, 11am to 5pm.
Due to the expected popularity of the event, organisers recommend that visitors buy tickets in advance. Links to more information and to buying tickets can be found on the Loch Lomond Shores website at www.lochlomondshores.com
