Santa officially takes residence in his magical Christmas Grotto on Saturday 10 November which will be open daily until Christmas Eve. Located outside Mothercare, a visit to Santa’s grotto is a Christmas must.
For the second year in a row, Santa is opening his Grotto during specific “quiet” sessions, designed for children with autism or with sensory or learning disabilities or vulnerabilities. Quiet sessions will be held between 10am and 11am on Sunday 11, 18 and 25 November as well as Sunday 2, 9 and 16 December.
A visit to the Grotto costs £5 and each child will receive a special Christmas gift from Santa in person. Due to it being one of Santa’s busiest times of year, parents are asked to book in advance to avoid missing out on this Christmas highlight. For timings and to book, please visit www.st-enoch.com
The centre’s famous reindeers including Russell Sprouts, Sparkles and Stardust, have now taken up residence to spread Christmas cheer and pose for selfies with shoppers while festive favourite, The Snowman, will also be in the centre on Sunday 25 November at intervals between 11am - 2pm when youngsters can come and meet the classic character created by Raymond Briggs.
Elsewhere in the centre, mark your little one’s first Christmas in style by registering for Baby’s First Christmas. St. Enoch Centre is proud to sponsor this Glasgow City Council event once again, where 1,000 of Glasgow’s newborns will receive a silver trinket & Hamleys teddy bear to mark the occasion. Registration for this event is now open and further details can be found at www.glasgowloveschristmas.com
The Christmas cheer continues at St. Enoch Centre in the world’s finest toy shop, Hamleys where there will be snow every day in December. Hamleys will also host their annual Meet Father Christmas event where children can join Father Christmas and his elves for a magical fun-filled experience. With games and activities, a chance to write and post a Christmas list to the North Pole, scrumptious snacks and the opportunity to meet Father Christmas, it’s an unforgettable Christmas milestone. Each visitor comes away with an extra special gift bag to take home and cherish. Available from Saturday 24 November until Christmas Eve the event lasts an hour at selected times between 9am-6pm and costs £25 per child. For booking details, visit www.hamleys.com.
Once again, Glasgow City Centre will become a sea of Santa suits on Sunday 9 December with the annual 5K Santa Dash. Runners will again be supporting the Beatson Cancer Charity and can pick up their Santa suits prior to the race from the pop-up shop in St. Enoch Centre. This store is open from Monday 3 December to Saturday 8 December during selected hours, full details can be found at www.glasgowloveschristmas.com
