Hit Comic Con returns to Rutherglen

Returning for a third year, The Big Glasgow Comic Page presents Rutherglen Comic Con at Rutherglen Town Hall on Saturday 2nd February!

Comic-mania has been sweeping the country of late, as a series of Comic Con events celebrating comics, fantasy and cosplay have been taking place all over Scotland. The Big Glasgow Comic Page has been spearheading the movement touring Glasgow and now returns to Rutherglen for it's third annual Rutherglen Comic Con.

The event, organised by Big Glasgow Comic Page, takes place from 10am - 4pm at the stunning Rutherglen Town Hall. The day will feature over 60 traders, cosplayers like Iron Man, Batman, Chewbacca, activities for all ages from tots to adults, as well as a series of guest appearances from Writers and Artists from Marvel, DC, Image and 2000ad Comics. Burnside Writer John Lees, Rutherglen born Artist Gary Erskine, Dundee Artist Monty Nero and Cosplayer The Crystal Wolf are some of the guests that will be appearing on the day.

The BGCP will be visiting Stonelaw High School, West Coats Primary, Calderwood Primary, Flipout and Rutherglen Shopping centre to promote the event and sell discounted tickets so keep an eye on their Facebook page for dates. Rutherglen Library will be involved again acting as the activity hub for the event, there will be a host of free classes and workshops taking place where Kids can make their own comic characters, masks and more.

Organiser, Ian Bonar, of Big Glasgow Comic Page, said, “We're very excited to return to Rutherglen for the third year in a row as it's always well received and I was born in Rutherglen so it's a personal victory for me to have such a great event in my hometown. I'm aiming to make this event even better than the previous two events and get as much of the community involved as possible”

The event is suitable for all ages. Entry is ￡4 per person (￡3 if you buy online) and under 10’s are free. Tickets can be purchased at www.bgcp.co.uk
