The Bodyguard opens its UK tour at The King’s this Saturday while The Lavender Hill Mob treads the boards at Theatre Royal from Monday. Both shows follow a record-breaking panto season and a string of limited events including sing-along screenings of The Greatest Showman and Encanto and tribute shows like ‘90s Live and The Chicago Blues Brothers.
The Bodyguard is set to kick the weekend off with its star-studded leads Melody Thornton (playing Rachel marron) and Ayden Callaghan (playing Frank Farmer) in a story that gripped 90s pop culture in the film of the same starring vocal powerhouse Whitney Houston. The captivating plot follows Rachel, a successful popstar who falls under the threat of a stalker and an obsession that has grown dangerous. When her manager Bill hires former secret service agent Frank as her personal protection, a story of passion unfolds, complete with the soundtrack of Houston’s classics including I Will Always Love You, I’m Every Woman and Queen of the Night.
The Bodyguard will be at the King's Theatre between Saturday 28th January and Saturday 4th February, final tickets on sale now via www.atgtickets.com

The Lavender Hill Mob is the critically acclaimed stage adaptation of the classic Ealing comedy which was dubbed the ‘greatest film of time’ by The British Film Institute. Starring comedy duo Miles Jupp and Justin Edwards, the show is based the screenplay by T.E.B. Clarke and tells the story of Henry Holland, an unassuming bank clerk who dreams of stealing the van full of gold bullion he drives across London each day. When Henry learns that his new lodger makes Eiffel Tower paperweights out of lead, he devises a plan to make his dream a reality.
It’s a golden opportunity to pull off the crime of the century, they’d have to be fools to mess it up.
