Princes Square Virtual Lights Switch On this Saturday!
Princes Square kicks off Glasgow's festive season with a virtual switch-on and the chance to win a Christmas makeover for your home!

Princes Square’s annual lights on event will be a little different this year. Every year, they kick off Glasgow’s Festive Season with a gathering of tens of thousands of people but this year, due to restrictions, they are having a virtual switch-on and will be launching a competition at the event to win a professional Christmas makeover for your home.
The virtual event, to be held on Saturday 15th November from 6.45pm, will be hosted by TV and radio presenter, Jennifer Reoch, who will introduce us to The Shine Theatre Company who will take part in a socially distant choir performance of Christmas favourites.
Santa will be there delivering a special message to the boys and girls and will be asking them to help him countdown until he switches the lights on at 7pm. Viewers will be treated to a time lapse of the 42ft Christmas tree being constructed by The Christmas Decorators. The event will be available to watch worldwide on Facebook Live
Jennifer will announce the competition live on Saturday night. The prize is a professional Christmas makeover for your home which includes a 6ft decorated Christmas tree and the outside of your house in sparkly lights (Covid-secure) and you don’t need to worry about taking the decorations down - The Christmas Decorators will come back in the new year and do it for you! Katie Moody from Princes Square commented: “We know this has been a difficult year for everyone but we still wanted to make it special and hopefully we’ve brought a bit of Christmas cheer for families to enjoy at home.
