Rate the Plate with Breakfast Show stars Crofty and Grado explores the untold stories behind some of Glasgow’s most iconic restaurants – from Billy Connolly’s favourite orders, to Priscilla Presley’s penchant for pakora.
Join Crofty as he samples the vegan options, and Grado as he samples everything else, before the two go head to head putting their favourite dishes to the ultimate test - the Dougie Bag!
Glasgow Taxi drivers are famed not just for their knowledge of the city’s streets, but the very best places to eat. That’s why Glasgow Taxis driver Dougie has the casting vote on what plate is paramount, Crofty's vegan delight or Grado's omnivorous offering.
Glasgow and the West loves food and Rate the Plate will help you navigate the global offerings boasted by the city to choose your next meal out with your pals, your partner or your workmates.
Go Radio Chief Executive Tracey McNellan said: “We’re absolutely thrilled that so many people have decided to download our new podcast. Glasgow and the West have an amazing restaurant scene so Crofty and Grado teaming up with Glasgow Taxis was a match made in heaven. I’m sure listeners will enjoy Rate The Plate as much as Crofty and Grado enjoyed sampling the delicious food at all the great restaurants involved.”
Dougie McPherson, Glasgow Taxis very own Rate the Plate driver, said: "Glasgow Taxis is very proud to support Go Radio's new Rate the Plate podcast, which brings together a number of our favourite things - the businesses behind the Glasgow hospitality industry, the finest of foods and unrivalled west of Scotland patter. The fact I get to sample a "Dougie Bag" as part of the podcast is the icing on the cake, or the relish on the burger!
"Congratulations to Crofty, Grado and all the team at Go Radio for this fantastic achievement already. I can't wait to get involved in the next episodes to put my taste buds to the test again and would encourage all Glasgow food lovers to give Rate the Plate a listen."
