Lobster lessons during lockdown leads to new home delivery business for Glasgow chef

Learning to cook lobster during lockdown is the inspiration behind new seafood home delivery service, It’s In The Bag, which has now launched in Glasgow.
Freshly cooked lobsters, prawns, mussels and more are all on the menu and now available for delivery to your dining room table, straight from the kitchen at Websters on Glasgow’s Great Western Road.
The new business venture is the brainchild of Zimbabwean-born Glasgow chef Shantell Sikhosana, who perfected her seafood cooking skills during lockdown, observing other chefs on TikTok and YouTube and self-training.
The result is Glasgow’s first lobster home delivery service, in partnership with Websters and Deliveroo, with Lobster Bags and Half Bags, Prawn and Mussels Bags and Mini Prawn Bags among the options now available to order online.
All seafood boils are cooked in a delicious and mouthwatering blend of spices giving them an amazing lemon and spicy flavour and all come with a small tub of famous sweet and spicy butter sauce.
Shantell, 25, said: “I’m so excited to launch It’s In The Bag at Websters, the early feedback from customers during trials have been so positive. It’s something completely different for Glasgow, a city which loves its fresh seafood, and we will continue to innovate as we go to satisfy customers’ taste buds.
“I first learned to cook around the age of 10 when I lived in Zimbabwe. It’s In The Bag all started during lockdown when I saw videos of lobster and other seafood being cooked by the boil and instantly wanted to learn how to do it. A business down south was already doing it very well, so I contacted them directly and they helped me understand and learn how to prepare seafood to perfection just like they did. The rest is history and now we have a brilliant new business in Glasgow and are buzzing for what comes next.”
