Inclusive Starry Nights event announced at Dean Castle

Festive revellers with additional support needs can enjoy all the magic of the season during a dedicated inclusive evening at the Starry Nights Christmas experience at Dean Castle Country Park.

The enchanting new illuminated Christmas extravaganza promises outdoor festive fun for everyone, with a specially adapted experience suitable for those with additional support needs (ASN) including autism and other sensory processing disorders.

Designed and produced by the team at GC Live and delivered by technical partners, 21CC Group, Starry Nights runs from December 8 to 23 with the ASN night on December 11 providing a relaxed evening of magical Christmas entertainment with subdued sound and lighting effects for those who experience sensory overload.

From Santa’s Grotto to light and sound installations across the Country Park, the event is a festive treat, guaranteed to get visitors into the Christmas spirit as they encounter festive soundscapes and lasers filling the skies with Christmas colours.

The Starry Nights Trail also features the nation’s largest star-shaped Starry Night tunnel installation, entertainment from Twinkle the Elf, a visit to Icicle Land, the Grinch, magical reindeer and special water snowmen. The trail ends with a spectacular Nutcracker-inspired finale with dancing water.

The dedicated ASN night is sponsored by Edinburgh investment managers Walter Scott & Partners through the company’s Giving Group.

Time slots for the inclusive night are available from 4.45pm to 7pm and ticket prices for the event on December 11 have been reduced to £10 for adults and £8 for youngsters aged four to 15. Children under three and carers go free.
