This includes a not-to-be-missed festive double-bill in the Planetarium of The Muppet Christmas Carol and a special showing of Santa’s Starry Adventure where the stars will be the guide as you follow Santa around the world on his journey to delivers Christmas gifts.
You’ll also be able to settle down with a festive film in the IMAX Theatre – the largest cinema screen in Scotland – with showings of The Polar Express 3D. Tickets for this will be on special offer in November with the ‘Festive Films for a Fiver’ early bird deal – so keep a lookout for them going on sale.
Adults looking for a unique night-out can grab tickets for Science Lates Curious Christmas event, or check out the immersive Planetarium Music Experience, Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon. Tickets for next year’s Universe for Beginners night class in January and the popular Science of Whisky event in the Planetarium will also be available to buy – the perfect gift for any amateur astronomer or whisky lover.
For daytime visitors, Glasgow Science Centre will be transformed into a winter wonderland, with a Christmas-themed Science Show, activities and special festive treats and deals available in the café and coffee shop.
Customers will be able to browse for stocking fillers in the centre’s fully stocked onsite shop and give the gift of Science this Christmas by purchasing a Science Passport, which gives its owner free entry to Glasgow Science Centre for the whole year.
This new programme follows on from a successful Autumn run of events, including a sold-out Halloween Party and Batman all-nighter in the IMAX.
Commenting, Head of Events at Glasgow Science Centre Pauline Shaw said: “We can’t wait to welcome visitors back to Glasgow Science Centre at the end of the year for our fantastic programme of festive events – which are sure to put everyone in the Christmas mood.
“From watching a family favourite in our Planetarium or IMAX Theatre, to learning about the Science of Whisky under the stars, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this winter.”
