Scotlands favourite outdoor event is back. The Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust (GWCT) Scottish Game Fair is returning to the stunning grounds of Scone Palace this July (4-6), and this year is set to be the most delicious yet, thanks to an all-star lineup of Scotland’s finest chefs and a brand-new food and music collaboration.
The event promises a weekend of country pursuits, heritage, and world-class entertainment, with tickets now on sale.
At the heart of the Scottish Game Fair’s food scene, the team is delighted to be launching an all-new VIP restaurant concept, a unique culinary experience where visitors will be treated to a host of gourmet flavours and a chance to hear from two of Scotland’s biggest culinary stars – Tony Singh and Michelin starred chef Tom Kitchin. The chefs are renowned for their dedication to Scottish produce and innovative cooking, and will curate exclusive menus throughout the weekend, bringing visitors an unforgettable dining experience infused with flavour.
The celebrity chefs will be supported by Pete Gottens of Private Gourmet Chef. Pete is bringing a truly unique Highland Firecage Kitchen to support the extraordinary menu, using outdoor wood-fired cages to lock in sensational aromas. Guests can expect game that’s been cooked for several hours and savour the tender and mouth-watering flavours that only this style of cooking can deliver.
The new VIP restaurant located by the main arena, offers guests the unique opportunity to enjoy ‘food with a view’, making it the perfect place to relax and indulge while soaking up the displays and entertainment.
For those who love a little heat, the brand-new-for-2025 Chilli & Spice experience is set to be a major highlight of the weekend. This exclusive VIP offering, priced from £45 per ticket, includes, a specially curated spicy and flavour-packed dinner, and a reserved ringside seat to enjoy the incredible performance from the legendary Red Hot Chilli Pipers. This unique evening blends bold flavours with high-energy music, promising an unforgettable night.
Alongside celebrity chefs, The ESSE Cookers and Scottish Venison Cookery Theatre will be showcasing some of Scotland’s best food and drink producers and chefs. Tim Maddams, Richard Dalgleish and Stavros Bampitikos are just some of the names expected to be showcasing their skills at the theatre. Amy Rankine’s fermentation workshop is also making a return after last year’s success, giving visitors another opportunity to learn about the ancient art of fermentation.
In addition to the culinary delights, the Scottish Game Fair will feature its renowned array of country sports, family-friendly activities, shopping, and GWCT research and conservation exhibits, making it a must-visit event for lovers of Scotland’s great outdoors and traditions.
The Main Arena is renowned for putting on a magnificent show and promises an exciting lineup of attractions and performances. From falconry displays to hounds parades, terrier racing and hill pony displays, there is plenty to keep visitors entertained.
Highland ponies, native to Scotland and on the Rare Breeds Survival Trust’s vulnerable list, are going to be showcasing their hardiness and strength. As the largest mountain and moorland pony breed in Scotland, these animals are uniquely suited to the rugged landscapes Scotland has to offer, making them trusted and versatile working animals. These gracious Highland & Hill ponies can be admired in the Main Arena demonstrations.
There’s plenty to keep the whole family entertained, and it wouldn’t be a family affair without warmly welcoming four-legged friends to join in on the fun. The much-loved Gordon Setter Parade will be back, celebrating this endangered dog breed and offering a chance to appreciate their beauty and heritage. There will also be a new dog parade, seeing rare Scottish breeds such as Caledonian Danie Dinmonts and Scottish Deerhounds gather for the first time in event history.
David Gibson, Country Manager at Stable Events, who organises Scottish Game Fair, is excited to welcome visitors back for another unforgettable weekend celebrating the countryside. He said: “The Scottish Game Fair is a truly spectacular event that brings together people with a passion for rural life, country pursuits, and great food. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Scone Palace, we’ve curated an experience that offers something for everyone, from thrilling outdoor activities to exceptional culinary delights.
“Whether you’re a local looking for a fantastic family day out, a visitor from further afield keen to immerse yourself in Scotland’s countryside heritage, or someone eager to engage with important conversations around conservation and rural communities, this event is not to be missed. We can’t wait to welcome everyone for what promises to be our best year yet.”
Tony Singh MBE is excited to be at this year’s Scottish Game Fair. He said: “This is my first time at the Scottish Game Fair with GWCT and I'm super excited to be part of it! I've always loved cooking with game - it's some of the best, most honest produce we've got in Scotland - and I'm all about making it more accessible to everyone. Getting to celebrate it here, surrounded by rural communities who live and breathe this way of life, is a real joy. It's going to be a brilliant weekend, great chat and a chance to champion everything that makes Scotland taste amazing.”
Education has always been at the core to the Scottish Game Fair and the theme of the GWCT central exhibit will be "Research into Practice." It will focus on the various new provisions introduced by the Wildlife Management and Muirburn (Scotland) Act 2024 and how they can be effectively implemented. Separate stations will be dedicated to individual topics, such as muirburn and the new Muirburn License, trapping and the new Wildlife Trap License, as well as the future of farming under the new regulatory frameworks. Visitors will also have the opportunity to see live game birds on display, providing a practical insight into sustainable game management. They will learn how to comply with the new provisions and how GWCT can support them in achieving and demonstrating compliance.
Secure your place at the Scottish Game Fair 2025 today and prepare for an incredible weekend of food, music, and culture at the beautiful Scone Palace.
