Benny Lynch. Undisputed World Flyweight Boxing Champion. A Gorbals boy who rose from the Gorbals slums and fought his way to the top and international stardom. Only to see his star shoot its way into the demons of alcoholism and personal demons. In and out of the ring.
Johnny Ramensky. A Lithuanian immigrant, via Glenboig to the Gorbals, an infamous safe blower and consummate career criminal, headhunted by the War Cabinet to plunder the safes of the Nazi enemy and expose their secrets…and treasures.
Escaping from the Scottish Constabulary on a “job” one night, Ramensky stumbles across a “down and out” Champion…Let the rounds begin.
Two “Legends”. Cult status. Heroes…or hypocrites? Join these two anti-heroes as they explore the mind set of a “hero”. The myths and the men. Their wins and their losses.
This explosive new drama premiered to critical acclaim at The Edinburgh Fringe 2021.
