This Halloween weekend Melting Pot are giving the good people of Glasgow the opportunity to visit an era of pure decadence, excess, glamour and music with a one of a kind event inside the city’s most stunning venue. On Saturday 29th October, the Zaha Hadid designed Riverside Museum will be opening its doors for a spectacular party, complete with dancers, drag performers, acrobats and stilt walkers, with a soundtrack from Melting Pot’s very own resident DJs.
Guests are invited to dress up and immerse themselves in one of the most incredible parties of this year while dancing to the records that became the blueprint for modern day dance music. The disco phenomenon swept New York Clubs in the ‘70s changing music and nightclubs forever - from the underground bath houses hosted by Frankie Knuckles, the apartment parties held by David Mancuso at The Loft and Nicky Siano's Gallery parties; to the opulence of Studio 54 and Paradise garage hosted by Larry Levan.
They were the venues that were breaking the boundaries. Audiences of all kinds came together to dance to records made specifically for the dancefloor by producers like Walter Gibbons, Giorgio Moroder and Tom Moulton. Now, Glasgow’s legendary club night Melting Pot pays homage to the disco revolution in One Night at the Museum.
Expect a soundtrack from Melting Pot inside one of Scotland’s most famous museums, on the country’s oldest street complete with a Balearic cocktail bar and even the original Ghostbusters Car, Ecto-1, which is arriving at the museum especially for Halloween.
