About The John Martyn Project
The John Martyn Project brings together Blythe Pepino, Kit Hawes, Pete Josef, Sam Brookes, John Blakeley and Jon Short to celebrate the music of acclaimed Scottish singer-songwriter and guitarist John Martyn. Each of the members brings their own story and connection to the legendary artist’s music, adding to the experience of their collaboration
Described by The Times as “an electrifying guitarist and singer whose music blurred the boundaries between folk, jazz, rock and blues", and lauded by Rolling Stone after his death in 2009 for his “progressive folk invention and improvising sorcery”, Martyn released 23 studio albums over the course of his incredible 40-year career.
