Get Air Pollution Tae Funk!
Parents For Future Scotland are hosting Get Air Pollution Tae Funk!, a feelgood fundraiser of fine funk and sweet soul music, at Glasgow's Rum Shack on Friday 19th January!
About Get Air Pollution Tae Funk!
Music will be provided by brilliant DJs WeeG and Si Cheeba - so come and shake your moneymaker for a good cause!
We are fundraising to support the attendance of 400 children and parents at a meeting in Glasgow City Chambers in April 2024 to ask officials to enact specific changes that will help combat air pollution in Glasgow. We need money for transport/snacks, general running of the event and for any future events organised by Parents For Future Scotland.
Why? Glasgow is the 5th worst city in the UK for air pollution:
1 person a day dies as a direct result of air pollution in Glasgow
2 children a week are hospitalised with asthma and lung conditions in Glasgow
93% of schools are in areas that violate World Health Organisation guidelines on safe air to breathe
The event will give children and parents the opportunity to discuss the difficulties they have faced in regards to air pollution and ask for structural changes which would make it cheaper, cleaner and easier to travel around the city.
