Wee Write! Programmer, Margaret Houston said: “There was no way we were going to allow the snow to cancel most of Wee Write! 2018. We are so grateful to the authors who could re-arrange already busy schedules to come back this weekend and to those who have stepped in to help create a fabulous programme. Wee Write! Family Days are the perfect way to entertain the young book lover in your life, especially if you are looking for an alternative to watching the Royal Wedding or the Cup Finals!”
Story-loving tots have already been heading to their local library this week as Bookbug Week celebrations sweep through the city.
Running until 20th May the eighth annual Bookbug Week, devised to support every child to develop a love of reading, offers young people the opportunity to engage in exciting free events including author appearances, Bounce & Rhyme sessions and the chance to meet Bookbug.
Lucky tots and their families will even be able to meet Bookbug himself as he visits special Bookbug week sessions at the WeeWrite! Family Days and at story-time events with Alison Galbraith at Springburn and Pollokshields libraries.
With more than 10,000 babies aged 0-2 signed up as Glasgow Library members thanks to the Every Child a Library Member scheme, Glasgow Libraries expect hundreds of children to take part in the free events and activities on offer city-wide.
