Super Market Events usually take place in venues all over Glasgow including Tramway, Hillhead Bookclub and Drygate but like many events in the UK regular Glaswegian creative market Super Market Events has had to postpone market dates in response to COVID-19, however this means a large number of their regular small business traders will lose vital income usually generated at the market.
In response to this Super Market Events are launching SUPER MARKET SWEEP. A place for the public to shop exclusive discounts from small & local businesses and also enter the Food Bank Raffle - to win amazing prizes whilst raising funds for our local food banks.
This Sunday at 11am the Super Market Events website will be taken over by Super Market Sweep with products from the very best from Glasgow’s small business community as well as Gift Cards with discounts, Super Market will also be inviting local bars, restaurants and service providers to join in the fun and sell gift cards on the platform. Super Market Events is not taking any profit from the venture and hopes this will bridge the gap of the lack of retail events at this time and help to bring the creative community together in times of isolation.
Kelly Conway who runs Super Market Events says: “Glasgow is very fortunate to have such an amazing small business community and we love that our events are becoming such a great income generator for them, however with COVID-19 so many are small businesses are suffering not only financially but also this can be a very challenging time for small business owners mental health.
Postponing some of our dates is the right thing to do to protect the health of our traders and visitors, but we also a big risk for so many of our traders, with so much uncertainty at the moment it is easy to feel helpless, so we wanted to create an online event in which people still feel part of the community, can still generate an income, the public can still support their favourites and as an added bonus raise funds for our local food banks - and be in with the chance of winning some incredible prizes.”
Tickets for the Food Bank Raffle go on sale on Sunday as part of Super Market Sweep and prizes include a £200 Super Market Events Gift Card, Pure Roasters Coffee, Accessories from Hayley McSporran, Cocktail Masterclass from Wester Spirits, Personalised Beer Mat Portraits from Jonny Mowat, Gift Cards from Ryan James Studio, Vast Glasgow Vintage, Purple Valley Jewellery and much more to come.
Glasgow based businesses are welcome to join in with Super Market Sweep with either exclusive discounts or raffle prizes. They do not have to be current Super Market traders to take part, bars, restaurants and service providers such as hair dressers, beauty therapists are also welcome to join in the fun.
