Mary Doll gets 125th Anniversary Celebrations underway for the Tall Ship Glenlee
As part of The Tall Ship Glenlee's 125th celebrations the Clyde Maritime Trust welcomes the support of Elaine C Smith as the real-life figurehead for the charity after the ships own Mary Doll.

The Tall Ship Glenlee was launched in 1896 will be 125 years old on December 3rd and is the only surviving ‘Clydebuilt’ sailing cargo ships in the UK.
The historic vessels carved figurehead was named ‘Mary Doll’ during the restoration, when the Clyde built ship was brought back to the Clyde in the 1990’s, after the character played by Elaine in the hit Scottish comedy show Rab C Nesbitt.
National treasure and panto star Elaine C Smith, who is currently playing the Fairy Godmother in Cinderella at the King’s Theatre, has added her support to the Trust that cares and runs the Glenlee for the benefit of all to enjoy and learn through its unique maritime heritage.
The iconic Glaswegian actor will spread some magic and help welcome a special cake designed by HND Bakery students from City of Glasgow College ahead of 125th celebrations on the 3rd of December.
The Clyde Maritime Trust is a charity that cares for and maintains the Glenlee for future generations to learn, enjoy and preserve the maritime heritage of Scotland.
As a charity financial support is essential to keep the ship afloat to provide an inspirational space for learning, heritage and entertainment in Scotland.
