The Blankfaces donates proceeds from sales of their cutting-edge streetwear to organisations which support homeless charities. Now the firm is introducing a table tennis table for customers to pop-in-and-play with while they shop.
The table has been donated by Table Tennis Scotland, whose pop-in-and-play events have been a roaring success in Edinburgh’s Gyle and Ocean Terminal shopping centres.
Each day, shoppers have flocked to take advantage of the chance to get involved. From the outset, The Blankfaces have been enthusiastic backers of the plan to get Table Tennis into workplaces, shops, and social spaces in 2022.
Gerard McKenzie Govan, Founder and CEO of The Blankfaces said: “Bringing people together has always been a goal of ours. We’ve done it through our work with the homeless community; we’ve done it by facilitating creative opportunities across Glasgow and now we want to bring people together through ping-pong.
“It’s been great working with Table Tennis Scotland and we’d encourage other shops, businesses and offices to get a table too. Our customers love it and yours will too.”
The Blankfaces streetwear range, which is designed by people from Glasgow’s homeless communities, features accessories, hats, bags, face-masks, t-shirts, sweatshirts, hand-made jackets, and children’s wear. Designers receive a percentage of each product sold and the profits go to the homeless community organisations they partner.
Terry McLernon MBE, Chairman of Table Tennis Scotland, said: “Table Tennis Scotland is reaching out to businesses across the country with the offer of a top-of-the-range table tennis table, bats, balls and the support of local club coaches and players for a fraction of the retail price.
“We’re delighted to see a social enterprise like The Blankfaces get involved with Table Tennis Scotland. As customers will soon find out, it’s simply impossible to walk past a ping-pong table without having a go.”
Businesses can contact pingpong@hollicom.co.uk to take advantage of this unique offer, table, bats, balls and net for just £1000. As well as the benefits for your business, getting a table for your workplace will help TTS provide opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to play table tennis across Scotland, and support the next generation of Scottish superstar players.
