Miller Homes West Scotland is supporting Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity with a donation of £21,129.49 through its recent fundraising activities that saw the homebuilder complete a series of physical challenges to raise tens of thousands for the children's charity.
The Scotland West team, united in their commitment to support Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity, raised a total of £21,129.49. The impressive sum was achieved through their participation in the 22-mile Mighty Stride Kilt Walk fundraiser, which raised £15,201.49. Additionally, the team raised a further £5,928 through an Active step count challenge.
Glasgow's Children's Hospital treats more than 200,000 babies, children, and young people from across Scotland each year.
For every mile a Scotland West employee stepped during the homebuilder's Active step count challenge, Miller Homes pledged to donate £1 to Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity.
Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity is the partner charity to the children's hospital and aims to be there for every child treated in hospital in the West of Scotland. The charity relies on donations to help those who tirelessly care for young lives when they are at their most vulnerable, to invest in equipment, research and the continued improvement of facilities and services for children and families in hospital.
Andrew McArthur, Regional Operations Director for Miller Homes Scotland West, is incredibly proud of the fundraising efforts from the Scotland West team. He said: “The Scotland West team certainly knows how to accept a challenge, and this charity fundraiser was no different from others we've done throughout the years. Our regional team, whether they work in the land, sales, technical, in our offices, or on-site, took this incentive in their stride, raising tens of thousands for Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity, which does so much work for families and children in need.
“In addition to providing a boost to the children's charity, we've been able to actively encourage employees to come together as a team to increase their exercise and improve overall health and wellbeing.”
William McGowan, Head of Partnerships at Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity, said: “We are incredibly grateful to the team from Miller Homes Scotland West for taking on this amazing challenge to raise funds for our young patients. The Kiltwalk is such an iconic event, and we were honoured that the team laced up their boots and walked alongside so many others to raise money for Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity. The funds raised will help to support babies, children, and young people in Scotland's biggest children's hospital.”
