Independent restaurant owners, Joe and Amalia Lazzerini, will expand the brand and introduce a third restaurant site to Glasgow’s this October when they open The Loveable Rogue Southside on Nithsdale Road, in the trendy Strathbungo neighbourhood.
With successful Loveable Rogues now operating on both the West and East sides of the city, the new Strathbungo location will open on Thursday October 17th.
The Glasgow based entrepreneurial couple will offer a flexible, relaxed, cosy and accessible neighbourhood restaurant where everybody is welcome. The family-friendly restaurant will entice residents in the cities southside looking for home-cooked comfort food such as Roast Lamb Rump, Chicken Kiev, Oz Cheek Pie, or traditional Sunday afternoon beef roasts. With fresh, home-cooked dishes at the heart of their inspiration for The Loveable Rogue, diners will enjoy some of the best comfort foods Glasgow has to offer alongside a wide selection of wines, locally brewed ales, beers, spirits and classic cocktails.
The venue at 122-124 Nithsdale Rd, Glasgow G41 5RB, formerly home to Sur Lie restaurant, will house a 40-cover neighbourhood restaurant and will showcase a seasonal well crafted weekend brunch, a la carte and Sunday roast menus using quality ingredients and local produce.
Each flavoursome dish will offer guests a unique twist on family favourites and traditional recipes including Ham Hough, Cote de Bouef, Pan Roasted Scallops, Rogues Fish and Chips, Pan Fried Gnocchi and Monkfish Cheek Scampi. From classic Roast Beef and Yorkshire Puddings to Sunday roast dinners with a twist, a relaxing Sunday lunch with friends and family is not to be missed - The Loveable Rogue Southside Sunday feast will emulate its West End and East End location and aim to be 'the king' of their weekend menu.
Head chef and co-owner Joe Lazzerini said: “We will provide hearty, simple, and delicious meals that everyone can enjoy. Along with Rogue's heartier dishes, we bring our renowned Sunday roast to the community, which is served all day every Sunday.”
The Loveable Rogue Southside plans to create eight new jobs as they open this month and will be open Tuesday to Saturday from 12pm - late for a la carte dining and Sundays 12pm - 9pm for all day Sunday Roast.
Co-owner Amalia Lazzerini said: “By combining our focus on comfort food with friendly neighbourhood service, The Loveable Rogue Southside will offer a lively yet calm eating environment. Strathbungo, renowned for being one of the hippest areas in the city, makes this Southside gem a great location for our third Rogue.”
Like all good neighbourhood hangouts, the interiors will be homey and earthy, with a tasteful mix of exposed brick and beams, comfy furnishings, and offers an outdoor seating area wth 20 covers for warmer weather dining and drinking.
